He was predeceased by: his father Milton Shirley; his daughter Redina Kinchen; his siblings, George Shirley, Johnny Shirley, Ora Mae Fagan and Mildred Beckman; and his grandson R. J. Wigginton.
He is survived by: his wife Maudie L. Shirley of Quitman, MS; his sons, Kenneth Earl Shirley (Lindsay) of Quitman, MS, John Louis Shirley (Natasha) of Laurel, MS and David Walters (Brandy) of Ellisville, MS; and his siblings, Harold Shirley of Shubuta, MS, Milton E. Shirley of Quitman, MS and Jean Broadway (Jimmy) of Waynesboro, MS. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
