She was predeceased by: her parents, Forrest Leslie and Onie May Ryals (Lynwood "Buddy" Purvis); her son Steven Wendell Purvis; and her siblings, Rodger Earl Ryals, Jesse Ryals, Mildred Peterson and Nancy Pelitier.
She is survived by: her granddaughters, Amanda Purvis (Beau Mozingo), Jessica Hughes (Jimmy), Alicia Schrock (James) and Brandi James (Kay); her daughter-in-law Regina Purvis; her siblings, Billy Ryals (Carolyn), Arthur H. Ryals (Thea), Francis Jones, Nellie Sykes and Barbara Vega (Romeo); and her niece Tracey Morris. She is also survived by 11 Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made to the East Mississippi Regional Library of Quitman in her honor.
