He was predeceased by: his wife Rella Eggleston; his parents, Frank Eggleston and Grace Eggleston; and his brother Herbert Lee. He is survived by: his sisters, Maryanne Smith and Barbara Jean Moore; and his children, Susan Eggleston-Morris, Patricia Eggleston-Howard (Ralph Richmond), Julie Eggleston-Polk, Lisa Eggleston-Burguin (Todd), Robyn Eggleston-Allen (Jerry) and Melvin Dunaway (Mary). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
