He is survived by: his wife Marita Davis Rutherford of Pelahatchie; his children, Terry Hal Rutherford (Rhonda) of Clinton, Lisa Gale McIntyre (Ronnie) of Glen Allen, Tina Lou Chandler (Michael) of Pelahatchie, Pam G. Macoy (Michael) of Harrisville and Jonathan P. Rutherford (Jessie) of Pelahatchie; and his sisters, Billie Merle Hobden of Meridian and Charlotte Rutherford of Austin, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
