He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy Shoemaker and Irma Lee Bowman Shoemaker; his sister Eva May Stewart; and his son Charles M. Shoemaker. He is survived by: his wife Lucille Shoemaker of Pelahatchie; his children, Marie Nelson (Ellis) of Pelahatchie, Carolyn Durr of Canton, Lea Amanda Rogers (Wesley) of Pelahatchie, Richard Dolan (Mollie) of Brandon and Annette Lamberth (Don) of Homewood; and his siblings, Mary Jean Smith of Pelahatchie, Nona Rhinewalt (Dalton) of Morton, Ruby Prestage of Morton and Ray Shoemaker. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
