He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Carothers, and Gloria Carothers, Sr. (Taylor); his daughter Courtney Carothers; and his siblings, Arthur Carothers, Michael Carothers, Teresa Carothers and Rita Vaughn.
He is survived by: his grandson Jaden Carothers; his siblings, Bobby Carothers of Oxford, MS, Ronnie Carothers of Oxford, MS, David Carothers (Dorothy) of Oxford, MS and Coretta Carothers of Oxford, MS; his brother-in-law Mack Vaughn of Oxford, MS; and his close friend Lisa Howorth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
