He was predeceased by: his father James P. Thompson; his children, Vincent Phillips and Cecelia Thompson; and his brothers, James "Toy" Thompson, Arthur Earl "Scooter Bug" Thompson, Melvin Thompson and Raymond Harris.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Celisse Hickinbottom of Oxford, MS, Lashetta Hickinbottom of Oxford, MS, Veleise Phillips of Oxford, MS and Leonte Thompson of Oxford, MS; his siblings, John Thompson (Jessie) of Abbeville, MS, Burnice Thompson of Oxford, MS, Maxine Thompson of Oxford, MS, Mae Retha Thompson of Oxford, MS and Elaine Thompson-Pegues (Herman) of Oxford, MS; his sister-in-law Jimmie Thompson of Oxford, MS; and his daughter-in-law Jeanette Phillips of Oxford, MS. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
