He is survived by: his wife Cathy Lee Thornton; his sons, Allen Ray Wade and JT Barnett (Nikki); his grandsons, Keegan Barnett and Peyton Barnett; his sister Brenda Taylor; his nieces and nephews, Ed Taylor (Patsy), James Allen Rathbone, Karen Whatley (Chuck), Christine "Chrissy" Clever (Dale), Cindy Clark and Joanie Harris; and his sisters-in-law, Trudy Dickson and Vicki Grimm.

Lasting memorials in Allen's memory may be made to Broadway Baptist Church.
