He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Thurmon and Merlissis Thurmon; his wife Hazel Lois Thurmon (Wilson); and his siblings, Roxie Roach, Lucy Payton, Winnie Thurmon, Ruth Green, Ruby Galloway, Alene Gaines, Penny Lewis, Vicky Battle, Viola Thurmon, Roscoe Thurmon, Herbert Thurmon and Cain Thurmon.
He is survived by: his children, Renee Pomales of Baton Rouge, LA, Vincent Thurmon (Dawn) of West Columbia, SC and John Seymour (Tracey) of Hattiesburg, MS; his grandchildren, Kyle Cory, Aaron Pomales (Ari), Chelsea Pomales, Stephen Johnson (Jeanette), Davincia Thurmon, Tyrin Thurmon, Adria Sabino, Kyren Seymour, Kailey Seymour and Kelston Seymour; and his aunt Helen Brown of Alabama. He is also survived by Four Great Grandchildren.
