He was predeceased by: his parents, Audrey "Foxy" Douell and Bessie Parrish Douell; and his siblings, Calvin Doell, C. H. Douell and Caroline Burgess.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Douell; his children, Angie Dover of Belleview, IL, Paula Mayden (Leslie) of Curley, TX, Michelle Marks of Joplin, MO, Michael "Dooley" Douell (Anita) of Etta and Keith Douell of Myrtle; and his sister Mary Katherine Powell of Lakeland, TN. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
