He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Rakestraw Palmer and Boyd "Dutch" Palmer; his brother Donald Palmer; and his son Ricky Palmer. He is survived by: his wife Martha Ann Palmer (Hurst); his children, Ronnie Palmer (Kyong-Tan), Richard Palmer (Candi) and Melissa Palmer Dunnam (Bryan); and his grandsons, Chris Palmer, Adam Palmer, Sam Palmer, Joe Palmer, Tyler Palmer and Isaiah Sheffield.
