He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert N. Henderson, Sr. and Chasta Vivian Whiteside Henderson; and his siblings, Jane Nance, John T. Henderson and Perry Henderson.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy McDonald Henderson; his children, Sherri Davidson (Tracy) and Brent Henderson; his grandchildren, Jordan Smith (Logan) and Kristin Davidson; and his great grandchild Latham Reed Smith.
