It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gara Bernice Cox of New Albany, Mississippi, born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, who passed away on March 31, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Birchfield and Idella Birchfield (Baker); her husband Finley Wilson Cox; her children, Larry Cox, Sr. and Kristy Lynn Cox; and her brothers, John "Buck" Edward Birchfield and Lamar Birchfield.
She is survived by: her sons, John Cox (Cathy) and Randy Cox (Jan); and her grandchildren, Melissa, Tera, Larry Jr., Charly and Brandon. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
