She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Riggs and Mary Faye Riggs; and her husband Dr. William Oakes. She is survived by: her daughters, Trisha Kitchens (Dave) and Carla Ratliff; her sister Myra Pearce; and her grandchildren, Ben Kitchens (Stephanie), Sam Kitchens (Sara) and Mary Katherine Kitchens. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Union Grove Baptist Church at 225 Brewer Rd. Tremont, MS 38876.
