It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Neward Merchant of Madison, Mississippi, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on July 23, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Teresa Funke Neward and Frank L Sr. Neward; her siblings, Frank L Neward, Jr. (Amita), Rosemary Harwick (Don) and Lenore Sallwasser (Jim); and her daughter-in-law Tammy Merchant.
She is survived by: her husband Leo Francis; and her children, Sally East (Tom) of Villa Hills, Peggy Jacobs (Pat) of Tomball, Paul Merchant of Greenwood, Julie Goforth (Kenny) of Madison, Anne Marie Bromley of Brandon, Mary York (Allen) of Madison and Dawn Husbands (Tim) of Pearl. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol's honor to St. Richard's Catholic Church, St. Richard's.
