He is survived by: his wife Judy Kay Shumaker Hemphill; his sons, Timothy Ray Hemphill (Jo Katherine) of Louisville, Scott Hemphill (Janet) of Cookeville and Mike Hemphill (Delana) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Cruise Hemphill (Amber), Tyler Hemphill, Brandon Hemphill, Josh Hemphill and Michael Hemphill; and his great grandchild Israel Hemphill.
