It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Lenon Smith Sr. (Long Beach, Mississippi), who passed away on January 11, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edgar Greene and Anna Dunnigan Smith of Lucien, MS.; his wife Elva Calcote Smith; his sons, Mel Smith (Jo Ann) and Mark Smith (Julienne); his grandsons, Tyler Smith (Tara) and Brandon Smith (Lauren); and his great grandchildren, Sam, Eloise and Francis Elva.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Long Beach, 300 N. Cleveland Avenue, Long Beach, MS 39560.
