He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Gibson, and Lottie V. Gibson, Sr. of Great Falls, SC; and his brother Larry Gibson of South Carolina. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Elizabeth Leavell (Betty) of Newberry, SC; his children, Beth Dean (Rex) of Long Beach, Cathy San Antonio (Garry) of Greenville, TX and Jim Gibson (Laura) of Warrenton, VA; his grandchildren, Ashley Peterson Heidingsfelder (Pat), TJ Peterson (Morgan Linnett) of Denver, CO and Chelsea Dean (Zachary Dubroc) of Biloxi, MS.; and his nephew Vann Davis of Gulfport, MS.. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, the South Mississippi Humane Society or First United Methodist Church of Long Beach.
