He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Brewer Stokes and Julia Doris Huff Stokes; and his siblings, Wayne Stokes, Marjorie Alcorn, Jackie Stokes and Jeanette Stokes.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lee Wroten Stokes; his children, Jena Walters (Preston) and Brad Stokes (Lori); his grandchildren, P. J. Walters (Shan), Julia Ready, Rebecca White (Dakota), Gabe Stokes and Caleb Stokes; his great grandchildren, Gwendolyn Walters, Annelise Walters, Leighla Ready and Ali Ready; and his sister Judy Herring (Jerry).
