He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Cleveland Blalock and Nora Lee Plemmons Blalock; and his siblings, Dorothy Blalock Hadley, Carl Blalock and Lee Blalock.

He is survived by: his wife Blondell Coleman Blalock of Liberty, Mississippi; and his siblings, Aubrey Blalock (Genevieve), Merrill Blalock, Bert Blalock, Wilma Aucoin (Ted) and Debra Moritz (Ken). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Surely charity, the pure love of Christ, was the hallmark of Melvin Anthon Blalock's character.
