It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Bennett of Itta Bena, Mississippi, born in Sunflower, Mississippi, who passed away on June 18, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Aubrey and Lorraine Norris Bennett; his siblings, James Bennett and Julia Ann Tharpe; and his stepbrothers, Donald Ray Hodges and Johnny Glenn Hodges.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Draughn Bennett; his sons, Franklin Bennett (Jan) of San Antonio, TX and Robert Bennett (Kim); his brother Larry Bennett (Jean) of Itta Bena, MS; his stepsisters, Linda Poe (Bobby) and Gladys Wiggins (Bernard); his grandchildren, Paul Haley (Jami) of Carrolton, MS, Chase Bennett (Carrie) of Greenwood, MS, Kathryn Bennett of Cleveland, MS and Austin Bennett of Itta Bena, MS; his great grandchild Avonlea; and his friends, Benny Rigby and Thomas Donahue (Toad). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
