It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velva Ruth White (Hurley, Mississippi), born in Mineral Wells, Texas, who passed away on December 20, 2018, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Arlis "A. J." White; her parents, Matthew Beal Locke Sr. and Thelma Ruth Locke; and her brother Matthew Beal Locke Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Stewart Walker, Tobie Stewart Thayer (Steve), James Thomas Stewart (Debra Lynn), Pam Jackson DeVos (Mark) and Elizabeth White; her grandchild Melanie Walker Gianakis (George); and her great grandchild Pfc. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
