He was predeceased by: his parents, James Whitt and Janice Russell McDonald; and his grandparents, Sybil Whitt, J. R. Whitt, Bernice Wilson and James Russel.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Whitt of Houston; his son J. T. Whitt of Houlka; his siblings, Keith Whitt of Houlka, Tim Dobbins of Houston, Jimmy Dobbins of Houston, Gwen Dobbins of Ackerman and Diane Staten (Ricky) of Aberdeen; his grandchildren, Jay Michael Whitt, Ryder Whitt, Jaycee Beth Whitt, Thomas Smith and Colton Smith; his aunt Judy Whitt; and his nieces and nephews, Jason Stevens, Brian Dobbins, Ashton Whitt, Tonja Brassfield, Nikki Dobbins, Brandi Dobbins and Kimberly Smith.
