With heavy hearts, we announce the death of LCDR Royce S. Hanberry Sr. (Hattiesburg, Mississippi), born in Sumrall, Mississippi, who passed away on March 21, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jewel Faye Hanberry; his daughter Jerry Faye Hanberry Stockstill; his grandson James David Jones III; his parents, Edgar Hugh Hanberry and Miriam Girley Hanberry; and his brothers, Edwin Earl Hanberry, Sr., Charles Lynn Hanberry, Shirley Wayne Hanberry and Harry "Pete" Olin Hanberry.
He is survived by: his children, Royce S. Hanberry, Jr. (Barbara) and Pamela Gail Hanberry Cole (David); his siblings, Lynnie Jean Fogg and Donnie Joe Hanberry; his grandchildren, William Royce Jones, Ryan Hanberry, Robin Hanberry, Justin Hanberry and Jennifer Jewel Cole; and his great grandchildren, Jenice Kylin Jones, Bailee Faye Jones, Colin Hanberry, Elisha Hanberry, Brennan Hanberry, Jourdon Hanberry, Rainna Hanberry, Connor Johnson, Cambridge Hanberry, Averley Hanberry, Brierlyn Hanberry, Victoria Jewel Cole and Chase David Cole.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be provided to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Lung Association.
