He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. David Harry Halliwell, Sr. and Agnes Wright Halliwell; his wife Betty Vivian Lucas Halliwell; and his daughter-in-law Mary Helen Davis Halliwell. He is survived by: his children, Dr. David Harry Halliwell, III and Mary Vivan Halliwell Guenveur (Bill) of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Sarah Halliwell Carver (Brian), David Harry Halliwell, IV, Mary Lucas Halliwell (Charles Southern) and Meredith Guenveur of Austin; and his great grandchildren, Vivian Vallie Carver and James Davis Carver.

Memorials may be made in Dr. Halliwell's memory to Southern Pines Animal Shelter, as well as Main Street United Methodist Church.
