He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bernice McCarthy and Russell McCarthy; his wife Peggy; his children, Sarah Parker of Hattiesburg, Susan Steckler (David) of Madison, Patrick McCarthy (Shirley) of Hattiesburg and James McCarthy of Hattiesburg; and his siblings, Jolene Jonaus, William McCarthy, David McCarthy, James McCarthy, Bernard McCarthy and Carol Smith. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren.
