He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest W. "Dick" Colvin and Rebecca Hovis Colvin; and his siblings, Beverly C. Smith and Harold Colvin. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Allen Colvin; and his children, Pshone Colvin Grace (Michael) of Gluckstadt and Richard A. "Rich" Colvin, II of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
