He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert N. Whitehead and Ruby Dillon Whitehead; his granddaughter Rebecca Whitehead; his son-in-law Lance Letchworth; and his siblings, Nathaniel Whitehead, Walter Whitehead, Johnny Lee Whitehead, Thomas Whitehead, Gladys Hollingsworth and Jenny Livingston.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Whittington Whitehead; his children, Michael Whitehead (Marlene), Ronald Whitehead (Jeanne), Denise Singleton (Mark) and Celeste Letchworth; and his stepchildren, Wendy Aaron and Glen Sterling. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
