He was predeceased by: his father Tom Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Byrd of Clear Branch; his children, Dr. Joyce Byrd of Clear Branch, Mary "Sissy" Blair (Randy) of Clear Branch, Faye Smith (Mark) of Florence, Webb "Bo" Byrd (Kathy) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Paul Byrd (Tina) of Clear Branch and Tim Byrd (Starla) of Clear Branch; his brother William "Bill" Byrd of Howards Creek, FL; and his nephew Andy Taylor. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
