He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Lee and Mattie Rencher Mattox; his granddaughter Meghan Murphy Mattox; his brother O. L., Jr.; and his sister-in-law Joyce Mattox.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Pannell Mattox; his children, Mike Mattox (Amanda), Brad Mattox (Terri), Jennifer Orman (John), Sarah Holt (Lee) and Katie Weir (Matthew); his grandchildren, Erin Mattox, Lauren Mattox, Micah Haire, John Edward Orman, William Orman, Olivia Weir, Henry Weir, Charlotte Weir and Mattox Holt; and his caregivers, Stephanie Brock, Naomi Spears, Brenda Clark and Lynn Ellis.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Baptist Children's Village, P.O. Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060, in honor of Ladron's memory.
