He was predeceased by: his daughter Ginger Thrasher; his parents, Robert Thrasher and Lula Leatherwood Thrasher; and his sisters, Lillie Odle (Cecil), Lizzie Linville (Marlin) and Alyene Nelms (Lester).

He is survived by: his son Scott Neal Thrasher; his granddaughter Jayce Kate Thrasher; and his daughter-in-law Sonya Gail Thrasher.
