He is survived by: his wife Novelyn Hales Higginbotham Broom of Columbia; his children, Joshua Broom of Columbia, Kyle Broom of Columbia and Crystal Whitley of Spring, Texas; his mother Virginia Jackson Broom of Prentiss; his grandchildren, Pierce Whitley of Spring and Rebel Shane Knight of Columbia; and his siblings, Jerry Broom of Columbia and Vera Dyess of Prentiss.
