He is survived by: his wife Nina Carpenter; his children, Frank Carpenter, Taylor Carpenter and Elizabeth Carpenter; his parents, James Lee Carpenter, Sr. (Jimmy) and Billie Ivey Carpenter; his brothers, William Buddy Ballard (Jeneane) and James Lee Carpenter, Jr. (Nikki); his nephews, Cole Carpenter and Luke Ballard; and his niece Sarah Ballard.
