He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley King and Addie Sumrall King; his grandparents, Daniel Sumrall and Sumrall; and his siblings, Vada Chance, Mary Ferrell, Jessie Pearl Mitchell, James King and Charles King.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Fay Simmons King; his son Dave Burkes (Charlene); his grandsons, Chris Burkes and Andrew Burkes (Jocelyn); and his great grandchildren, Elijah Burkes, Peyton Burkes, Olivia Burkes and Paisleigh Burkes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Tommy King Missionary Dependent Scholarship at William Carey University, Box 2, William Carey Parkway, Hattiesburg, MS 39401.
