He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Lou Lott Daniel; his parents, Ira Homer Daniel and Bonnie Mabel Winstead Daniel; his siblings, Inez Magee, James Daniel, Pauline Everett and Allie Lou Grey; and his son-in-law Jeff Harvey.
He is survived by: his close friend Lassie; his children, Homer Daniel, Jr. (Gail) of Collins, Derrell Daniel (Penny) of Collins, Serita Daniel of Sumrall and Mechelle Duckworth (Joel) of Sumrall; and his grandchildren, Daniel Harvey, Steffani Duckworth, Nichole Daniel, Jason Duckworth (Meagan), Kevin Daniel, Cher Smith (Jonathan), Adriann Cooper (Tyler), Justin Duckworth, Shelby Ellzey (Drey), Rebel Knight (Kelli) and Destin Knight. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
