He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harold Rains and Ethel Louise Tucker-Rains; and his siblings, Linda Logan, Martha Austin, Sonny Rains, Robert Rains, James Rains and Charles Rains.
He is survived by: his children, James Lamar Rains of Drummonds, TN and Cindy Gardner of Covington, TN.; and his brothers, Patrick Rains, Tommy Rains, Harold Rains and Johnny Rains. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.
