He was predeceased by: his parents, Hez Samuel and Rue Lewis Smith. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Smith of Carthage; his daughters, Laura Smith of Kosciusko and Robin McMurry (Gene) of Carthage, MS; his siblings, Owen Smith (Tina) of North Carolina, Frances Bardin (Ray) of Kosciusko, MS and Shirley Joiner of Kosciusko, MS; his grandchildren, Joseph Alford (Brianna) of Philadelphia, MS., Joshua Alford of Carthage, MS and Caroline Hutchison (Cole) of Kosciusko, MS; and his great grandchildren, Gage and Waylon Hutchison. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
