Elizabeth Hanks McMillan Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Hanks McMillan of Carthage, Mississippi, who passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Giles Hanks and Viola Hanks; her son Giles Riley McMillan; and her sister Shirley Sims. She is survived by: her husband Jack M. McMillan of Carthage; her children, Connie Harthcock (Brad) of Carthage and Jack L. McMillan (Chris) of Madison; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Harthcock, Christopher McMillan, Nick McMillan (Summer) and Jacob Harthcock (Kristin); her great grandchild Lucy McMillan; and her sister Mary Calhoun Barfield. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Harmony Baptist Church (10161 Road 604, Philadelphia, MS 39350). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers family requests all memorials be made to American Heart Association or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
