He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Wilkes and Lillian Cole Crenshaw; his stepfather Glen Crenshaw; and his siblings, Doyle Wilkes, Jr., James Mack and Pauline Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Howell Wilkes of Courtland, MS; his children, Lamar Lee Wood of Courtland, MS, Brian Douglas Wilkes (Elizabeth) of Courtland, MS, Jeffery Wilkes (Christina) of Defuniak Springs, FL and Angela Todd (Raymond) of Charleston, MS; and his siblings, Rev. Dennis Wilkes (Barbara) of Toccoa, GA and Gayle Land (Cecil) of Jackson, MS. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
