She was predeceased by: her parents, Thornton Thompson and Hazel Thompson; and her siblings, Mickey, Rex, Grover Thompson and Sally Kuzenski (Ken Kuzenski).

She is survived by: her husband James "Curtis" Petty; her daughter Sheila Boling (Scott Boling); and her grandchildren, Brett Boling (Sarah Boling) and Deanna Carpenter (Michael Carpenter). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home (1360 W Government St, Brandon, MS 39042). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Crestview Memorial Gardens (1106 Star Rd, Brandon, MS 39042).
