He was predeceased by: his parents, Hester Cox and Era Cox; his wife Virginia "Gin" Michael; and his brothers, Doyle, Otis, Arvid, Travis and Hester Junior.

He is survived by: his sons, Barry Cox (Jane) of Tupelo and Miles Cox of Booneville; his grandchildren, Andrea Harris (Tim) of Rienzi and Dustin Cox (Claudia) of Nashville; his great grandchildren, Adam Harris, Ethan Cox, Gavin Cox and Haley Harris; his brother Hayden Cox of Brandon, MS; his granddaughter Lori Cates (Zack); his great grandchild Claire of Huntsville; and his close friends, Marie Rhodes, Ashley Murphy, Brenda Cox, Marsha Glidewell and Wanda Cadle Cox.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gaston Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice.
