He was predeceased by: his sister Lanelle Sims; and his parents, James Edward and Vera Wade Strange Sims. He is survived by: his wife Paulette Perrigo Sims of Blackland; his children, Mikel Sims (Kelly) of Jumpertown, Kyle Sims of Blackland and Tawanna Nash (Brad) of Sikeston, Missouri; his siblings, David Sims (Lila) of Jumpertown, Brenda Schrampfer (Jon) and Bobbie Sims (David L.); his grandchildren, Kaylee Sims, Abby Stevenson, Marly Stevenson, Skyla Stevenson, Olivia Nash, Carson Nash, Brody Nash and Kyler Sims; his close friend Puppy Love; and his brothers, Perrigo, Bill Wimberly and Mack Mitchell.
