She was predeceased by: her parents, Casper Clyde (Julia Nichols) and J. A. Smith; her grandparents, Claude, Lily Michael, Clara and Jodie Smith; her sister Julia Dianne Weeks; her nephew Kevin Turner; her niece Emily Turner; and her close friend Jeff Walker.

She is survived by: her daughter Jessica Coats (Christopher Hassan); her sisters, Carol Denise Wilemon (Clayton), Phyllis Barnes (Terry) and Melissa Turner; her grandchildren, Mason Coats, Cooper Bowen, Darien Carroll, Madison Hassan, Haley Hassan and Dakota Hassan; and her nieces and nephews, Michael Smith (Shawna), Kenney Turner III, Alanah Barnes and Alexandria Barnes.
