He was predeceased by: his son Danny Dawson; his mother Alma Dawson; his brother Mickey Dawson; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph and Aurola Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kay Dawson of Booneville; his son David Russell (Donna) of Booneville; his daughter-in-law Marsha Dawson of Booneville; his sister Ruby Moore (Ronnie) of Baldwyn; his grandchildren, Bo Russell (Tonya), Jacob Dawson and Ty Dawson; and his great grandchildren, Ben Russell, Lydia Dawson, Daniel Dawson and Dani Dawson.
