She was predeceased by: her parents, Hance Douglas Dykes and Lela Mae Smith Dykes; her daughter Barbara S. Brister; and her siblings, Edward Dykes, Dora Mae Hines, Ruby Causin and Betty Jo Carter.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth A. Brister; her daughters, Joyce A. Evans and Rebecca L. Moore; and her brother James "Jimmy" Dykes. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
