He was predeceased by: his parents, Whitfield Hayes and Elizabeth Hayes (Black); and his son Racey Gene Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Jacky Hayes; and his children, Tammy Leatherman, Duke Hayes and Neal Hayes. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
