He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Buck and Iva May McCurdy (Dowell); his daughter Patricia May Long; his son-in-law Allen Andrew Welch; and his siblings, Willie Hoy McCurdy, Merle Jack McCurdy, Thomas Albert McCurdy, Charles Joseph "Joe" McCurdy, George Willard McCurdy and Lily Grace DeTienne.

He is survived by: his grandchild Dillon Bass; his wife Margaret June McCurdy of Wellsville; his daughters, Judith Grace Canterbury (Don) of Wellsville, Edna Fern Berry (Bill) of Wellsville, Debbie Irene Welch of Vandalia and Vicki June Lemasters (Steve) of Mexico; his son-in-law Jim Long of Paris; his grandchildren, Hanna Bass, Lynn Bass of Chandler, Amy Bishop of Mexico, Ashley Welch of Vandalia, Bradley Lemasters, Becky Lemasters of O'Fallon and Gregory Lemasters of Warrensburg; and his great grandchildren, Dillon Bass of Chandler, Alexis Welch, Aaliyah Welch of Laddonia, Rhett Bishop, Bryce Bishop of Mexico, Alizabeth Welch of Mexico, Amelia Lemasters and Davis Lemasters of O'Fallon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
