He was predeceased by: his mother Virginia Grunst (Greninger); and his sister Clara Marie Grunst. He is survived by: his father James E. Grunst, Sr. of Carthage, Missouri; his brother Tom Grunst of Carthage, Missouri; and his half-sisters, Debbie Lewton of Florida and Pam Hartley of Joplin.
