He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Cheek and Flora Cheek (Kunkle); and his siblings, Virgie Drake, Dorothy Drew and Homer Cheek.

He is survived by: his daughter Lee Ann Mecomber (Jeff). He is also survived by one grandchild, and 3 great grandchildren.
