He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Smith and Martella Smith; his son Greg Smith; and his brother-in-law John Spencer. He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith; his sister Cathy Spencer; his son Carl; his daughter-in-law Char Smith; his daughters, Rebecca McDonald and Kristi; his son-in-law David Blomeyer; his son Troy; and his daughter-in-law Christi Potter. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
